Funding for Summer Language Programs
CLI offers a limited number of scholarships. Most are intended to support CLI students studying abroad. Students apply for them after their arrival at CLI in June.
The Kazan 8-week scholarships are different; the application deadline for them is in March.

ALBANIAN
- Amount
- 3 grants of up to $600
- Purpose
- To support students of intermediate or advanced mastery Albanian. Preference is given to students traveling to Tirana on the CLI 3-week study-abroad program.

Participants in CLI 2010 intermediate or advanced mastery Albanian programs in Tempe.

ARMENIAN
- Amount
- 3 grants of up to $600
- Purpose
- To support students of elementary or intermediate Armenian. Prefence given to students traveling to Yerevan on the CLI 3-week study-abroad program.

KAZAN TRAVEL GRANTS
- Amount
- 2 grants of up to $3,000
- Purpose
- To support ASU students studying advanced Russian, elementary Tatar, or intermediate Tatar in their study abroad on the CLI 8-week program in Kazan.
- Eligibility
- Kazan travel grants are for ASU degree-seeking students (graduate or undergraduate) only. Participants receiving other scholarship support through CLI, including CLI+ support, are not eligible for CLI Kazan Travel Grants.

IDEA AWARDS (ALL LANGUAGES)
- Name
- International Distinguished Engagement Award
- Amount
- Up to 5 awards of up to $600
- Purpose
- CLI International Distinguished Engagement Awards honor CLI students who distinguish themselves by academic achievement and demonstrated commitment to pursuing careers in the Foreign Service, international public sector service, or academic fields related to their language. IDEAs are to be used for overseas study only.

- CLI participants whose 3-week study-abroad costs are covered in whole or in part by other CLI support -- including CLI+ ROTC funding -- are not eligible for IDEA scholarships.
