CLI Cost Estimates, Summer 2012
This page lists costs for courses offered at ASU only. For study-abroad fees, see the bottom of the relevant Study Abroad page.
OVERVIEW:
CLI courses are tuition free, but some fees apply. They are:
- CLI Program Fee: $700
- ASU Account Application Fee: $50-$90 (non ASU students only)
- SILC Fee: $50-$75
- Study-Abroad Fees: Vary, see individual Study Abroad pages
- Misc. Optional Fees: See below
- CLI program fee: $700
- This fee is charged in two parts:
- $200 will be charged to your ASU student account when you register for a CLI class.
("Registering" means that you have applied to CLI, been admitted, received an ASU computer account and successfully enrolled in a CLI class using the ASU registrar's website. You will be charged nothing until all these steps are accomplished.)
- $500 will be charged to your ASU student account if the ASU registrar's records list you as enrolled on the second day of your class.
These fees are non-refundable.
- $200 will be charged to your ASU student account when you register for a CLI class.
- ASU application fee: $50-$90
- Non-ASU students who have been admitted to CLI must apply for an ASU student account. Application fees vary by student type and residency. CLI will send details about this process to all applicants who are accepted. The fees for applying for an account are:
- $50 (AZ resident undergraduate)
- $65 (non-AZ resident undergraduate)
- $70 (graduate, regardless of residency)
- $90 (non-U.S. citizen with valid visa or residency permit)
- SILC fee: $50 - $75

The ASU School of International Letters and Cultures charges students in any ASU language course, including courses overseas, $25 per session. That works out to $50 for a CLI course in Arizona (two sessions) and an additional $25 for a CLI course overeas.

Different study-abroad programs have different fees. Fees are listed at the bottom of each Study Abroad page.
- Miscellaneous and optional fees:
- There are a number of other fees that may affect some students. Examples include:
- Student ID card (optional): $25
- Student recreation fee (gym use fee): $25
- Immunization costs
- Non-CLI academic fees (for ASU students in units that charge special per-credit fees, e.g. the ASU Business School)
- Books and materials
- Transfer of credit fees
- Other fees levied by your home university
This fee is non-refundable.
