Advanced Mastery Albanian

Advanced Mastery Albanian is a 6-week, 6-credit course, intended for advanced speakers of Albanian and for heritage speakers (students with Albanian-speaking parents) who wish to improve their mastery of stylistics and register, with the goal of using Albanian for professional purposes.
The course emphasizes professional editing, translating, composition and stylistics. Students will work on both the Tosk and the Gheg dialects.
Students are also encouraged to take advantage of the summer program in Tirana.
Linda Mëniku is a native speaker of Albanian from Tirana, Albania. She is a lecturer in the departments of linguistics, journalism, and German at the University of Tirana, where she specializes in discourse analysis, Albanian as a foreign language, and media discourse. Linda has taught Albanian at the CLI since 2003.
About Advanced Mastery Albanian
This is a 6+4 hybrid course. It has two components:
- 6 weeks on the ASU campus for 6 ASU credits, plus
- 4 weeks overseas (optional) for 3 ASU credits
- 7-week program cost: Tuition free, but fees apply (est. $775 in 2012)
- 4-week program cost: Study-Abroad estimated at $1,575 in 2012.

Both components are open to any qualified applicant over 18, including undergraduate, graduate, and non-degree students. Non-ASU students and non-students are welcome. Students under 18 may attend the 7-week program in Arizona with guardian's consent.
Enrollment is limited and competitive.
